| Description: | As a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act), USA Today and other newspapers in several States have noted that drivers across the country are seeing more roadwork than usual this construction season, and more congestion as a result. The Recovery Act gives States an additional $27 billion to repair roads and bridges. Much of that has been spent during this summer's construction season. Many States are trying to minimize impacts by spacing projects apart and working at night. Articles in local newspapers in Michigan, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Virginia show that the effects have been felt across the country. |
