Project - TEXAS: Value Priced Express Lanes on I-10 in San Antonio

This project will examine the use of value pricing on I-10 on a 19-mile segment between SH 1604 and SH 46. The region anticipates a 68 percent increase in population over the next 30-years. In the two-year period from 1995 to 1997, the area experienced an increase of 42 percent in traffic between Texas and Mexico. Truck travel in the corridor is 80 percent higher than the next highest volume freight corridor in the region. The study will consider use of tolling for demand management and public acceptability of tolling; integrate value pricing with financial and mobility goals; and establish baseline travel characteristics for development of future monitoring and evaluation plans.
