Sharing Knowledge - Getting Results

The program provides assistance through its network of over 120 USDOT-approved ITS professionals who have planned, implemented and operated ITS in urban and rural areas. Most of the Program's Peers are public sector ITS practioners - "your Peers."

Services Provided

The Peer to Peer Program delivers short term assistance according to your ITS needs. Assistance may include telephone consultations, off-site document reviews, presentations, visits to your site or appropriate actions. Many customers receive a mix of services delivered by phone, mail and site visit.

The program continues to assist metropolitan and rural clients to create solutions for a variety of highway, transit, and motor carrier interests. The program offers assistance in virtually all areas of ITS planning, design, deployment and operations.

The Peer to Peer sponsors travel, communications and associated costs of its services. Since there are no direct costs to the customer, no purchase orders or other administrative actions are required. All information is held confidential within the Peer to Program Program. Just call, and we deliver!

Accessing the Peer to Peer Program

The Intelligent Transportation Peer to Peer Program provides free, short-term technical assistance regarding intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Our experts provide their experienceto help you plan, design and operate ITS systems.

Program recipients are public sector entities, including:

  • State DOTs
  • Transit agencies
  • State motor carrier & related agencies
  • Turnpike & tollway authorities
  • Cities, counties & MPOs

The Peer to Peer Program suppliments the technical assistance provided through the FHWA, FTA and FMCSA offices on your local area.
