| Description |
In order to produce a pavement design that more accurately replicates the traffic loading on roadways, the Virginia Transportation Research Council has released a report which examines equivalent single-axles load factors collected from weigh-in-motion devices between June of 2007 and May of 2008. These weigh-in-motion devices allow for continuous data collection which was not available when the current Virginia Department of Transportation pavement design procedure was created (1993) and allow for better representation of the actual stress from traffic to the roadways. |
