Final Highway Primary Freight Network Designation
This webpage provides information about the final designation of the highway-only Primary Freight Network (PFN). The Secretary of Transportation is required to establish this network and re-designate it every 10 years. The highway-only PFN designation gives consideration to the factors described in Title 23 United States Code Section 167(d) National freight policy [PDF 134KB]. The Federal Register Notice provides information about the methodology and data used for the designation, an analysis of comments received for the draft designation, and publishes a final highway highway-only PFN. The webpage also provides other materials to provide more in depth information about the routes identified as part of this network.
